The Regulators, a decade of warriors.

The ice was cold as the 2 warriors feet touched ground on the Isle of Deceit, far from their home in Britain. Taking what supplies they could carry, Hawthorne and Giggawatt left their boat parked along the frozen banks of the island and started inland. In the distance the dungeon Deceit waited to be conquered by these 2 warriors. Or did it? On the way to the dungeon the path was strewn with littered corpses, clothing, and all manner of debris.

Not letting good things go to waste the two warriors started packing up some of the finer items to take back to the boat before continuing on to the dungeon. In the middle of packing 4 hybrid caster/warriors come charging out of a cave down the path. Obviously it's a trap, we have been had. The Dread Lord Baba Monkey, The Dread Lord Trajan, The Dread Lord Mox and The Dread Lord Dalamar of the Notorious guild Inner Circle surrounded the Hawthorne and Giggawatt and proceeded to unleash a hellish fury of Electric Bolts, Explosion's, Fireballs and Halberd whacks.

Before either of the two warriors could begin to stand their ground they were both cut down. Not wasting any time the 4 killers scoured the bodies and took whatever was of value and left the rest scattered along the pathway to lure more unsuspecting adventurers.

This is how it all started.

In early 1997 I got PK'd in Ultima Online. And it rocked. From that day forward I decided I would put together a group of killers to kill whoever tried to kill us or whoever was looking for a fight. I was not alone in my quest. Soon I met some other great warriors: Stoneman, Jazz, Repent, Meth, Rainman, Zodiac, Kang, Erdrick, Sir Robin, Mithian, Ifirit, Glimor, Sairen Dragon, Arlington, the names kept going and the numbers swelled, and The Regulators were born. When Ultima was released in September of 1997, The Regulators were already mixing it up with any guild on the Atlantic server that wanted to mix it up. The Dominion, The Coalition, The Pluggers, The Mercs, Army of Darkness (AOD), The Syndicate (LLTS), SSJ, Brotherhood of Crimson Knights (BCK), RTA, Purple Dragons, Covetous Crew (CC), Darkenbane, FEAR, Inner Circle (IC) all bringing everything they had every chance they had to fight against or with us at some time during the course of the game. TR still has its original guild stone on Atlantic and active players guarding it to this day.

After UO The Regulators moved on to Ever-Quest. Wasting no time trying to pick up where we left off we selected Rallos Zek (PVP) as our home server. TR was greeted with a not so warm welcome from its peer's. The Mercs lead by Thyrm were already making their way up and Bone Dancer was dancing all over anyone who got into Sinisters way. Geiger aka Zelnik was asserting his PVP prowess with The Begotten at his fingertips whilst Lugoj was was fermenting war and chaos with is Flowers of Happiness (FOH). It was a crazy time indeed, but TR thrived and destroyed several guilds along the way. During our stay in EQ Gravedigga and his guild Dynasty of Blood joined TR in our PVP war on the world. By the end of EQ TR had not only built a considerable crew in the USA but had a fine squad of Euro based players lead by the infamous TR Swede's Deveon, Kenedorf, Tugog and Boram!

Next stop was Mythic Entertainment's first MMO offering, Dark Age of Camelot. This game was quick to draw the PVP crowd due to the fact that it was a Realm vs. Realm implementation. The Regulators quickly established Merlin as the base of operations for it's next campaign. Selecting Albion as its home realm, TR quickly became the #1 PVP guild for Albion only rivaled by IceClan and their superb players. Mantus and TouchTone (aka Enott) were wreaking havoc in Emain Macha for The Regulators, whilst Hawthorne was fermenting plans of Alliances for large scale attacks on Itz's (Itzalegend) Midgard guild: Conquest. Conquest would become one of the most established PVP guilds on Merlin and the nemesis of TR. The Combine and The Professionals (PRX) would also add to the tremendous lineup of the Midgard PVP guilds. The Mercs and Sinister had moved to Merlin as well and would form an Alliance known as the Angry Elves. Angry indeed! Today TR still enjoys a reputation on Merlin and has active players.

Once again you find your hero's thrust into a new world, this time it was Wolfpack Studio's Shadowbane. TR would join up with guilds you see mentioned above to form one of the most impressive PK/PVP nations in MMO history. This nation was The Rolling 30's of the Scorn server: The Regulators, Mercs, Sin, Pluggers, Covetous Crew and many more guilds made up this PVP monster. Soon after R30 flexed there PVP nation by destroying other nations, we got tired of the lopsided balance of power and broke off to form our own nation: Rome. R30 did not like this and set out to destroy it. The night before the planned attack on Rome, the LAPD (LOTD and other guilds) surprise attacked the R30 nation buying TR some much needed time. In the end it would not matter as Rome did indeed burn. Revenge would be had however. Zelnik and his Begotten were ready to make a move on the R30 nation but we needed more warriors. Enter KOC aka Blood from Ascheron's Call. With KOC, TR and TB 187 was formed. With the combined attacks from the LAPD and 187 along with R30's losing major leadership, the nation fell. Soon after this battle, TR packed up and got ready for its next adventure.

Will the force be with us? Star Wars Galaxies was not a very polished game as far as PVP, but boy did it have some great battles and some memorable characters! Bloodfin was the server we called home, and Mos Exigo was the city we built that saw some of the best fighting on the server. FIGHT was the main opposition group that gave us the most trouble. Lead by Delz nope, his firey band of rebels gave this imperial unit the most trouble, but in the end they were no match for the much more experienced Regulators. Nonetheless they were the best of the server and Delz is now an active TR member.

Below is a link for a Bloodfin PVP battle history account. It is quite long so it's provided as a link:

Once the Jedi's were done fighting we moved over to Lineage][ from NCSoft. Sieghardt server was to be our home, and boy what a home it turned out to be. Quickly identifying guilds we could work with we formed a 4 guild pact called the CBA or Care-bear Alliance which consisted of:

The Regulators, Inner Circle, Defenders of Order and KOS.

In very few days the first 2 castles fell to our alliances lead by Ossoi, Hawthorne, and each other guilds Commanders. In no less than 2 more weeks 2 more of the castles would become ours virtually putting an economic lock-down on the entire server. This strangle hold lasted for many months and the fight is still raging to this day. TR as a guild no longer functions in name in L2, but many of our players still carry on the fight with alliance guilds.

Our latest adventure put us up against the might instance boss's of Blizzards World of Warcraft. The Regulators transformed from a hardened PVP only guild into a fine PVE and instance unit for over 1.5 years in World of Warcraft. With many first on our server (Laughing Skull) and playing with great company like Pals 4 Life of the famed "LEERROOOY JENKINS!" video, we've had our hands full. Indeed this game was not much on the "guild" side of PVP so we have had to wait for another offering, and it looks like Mythic is working hard to bring us back onto their server racks with Warhammer Online? Or maybe Funcom and AOC? Time will tell!

So a decade of warriors have come and go from the Regulators, and a decade of warriors have fought with or against us. In many games and in many ways we as a collective have played an important role in the entertainment and excitement of other players throughout the world. 10 years ago a ripple was started by 1 pk's actions in a video game, and the excitement, friendships, good times, bad times, battles, and people that are involved in it have only grown and show no signs of stopping for the next decade. It's been an honor to play with each and everyone of you in this community.
