Drasken, long time sufferer of. . .whatever the fuck it is, has decided to join his kids in grade school. "I love my kids and I wanted to be with them more", he explains. "I let them sleep with me, too."
Drasken has already made progress in school, earning a gold star for capitalizing proper nouns and the beginning letter of sentences. His wife was so proud that it was promptly hung on the fridge next to the macaroni doodles.
"I'm really proud of him; his teachers have been tough, but he's top of the class in finger painting."
We here at The Regulators support Drasken in his venture and wish him the best of luck.
Here is why, for starters it requires you to be online for any game that you play. That means that if you do not have an internet connection active even your single player games will not work. I will not go into detail as to why this is bad, it should be obvious to anyone who plays games.
Secondly it is simply easier to pirate a copy or hack the DRM in order to play. When it becomes easier to deal with hackers than it is to deal with the company that made the game then something is very wrong with the game makers DRM system.
All in all it is that simplistic and that is what is so amazing about this problem. They knew it was a bad solution, anyone with half a brain knows it is a bad solution, yet they forced it on the public anyhow and it will only wind up costing the game makers money in the end, money they wont get from me, or other game players because it's easier to pirate the warez than it is to deal with the original author
In the efforts to control Piracy and profit margins the providers have basically shot themsevles in the foot, making it easier to turn to piracy for goods and services because the goods and services pirates offer are better than those of the original authors.
You know I really love my world war 2 sims, and I really love Silent hunter 3 and 4, they were both solid games.
That said, Silent Hunter 5 is an example of programmers trying to over-do something that is already done well. Instead of making suttle refinements and incorporating user modifications, they went overboard with silly effects and techniques that are implemented poorly and frankly have no place in this game.
It is clear that someone dropped the ball on Quality Control because this game can bring a quad core to it's knees. The way the controls work out are also poorly implemented. They have gone away from station keys to a system where you have to walk an avatar around the sub to get to stations (something I find super unrealistic, no captain had to walk to every station to get something done). There is also a "crew moral" system which is flawed at best.
What they have done is tried to dumb down the game to a "Console Level" not taking into account that simulating a sub can't be done by nor operated by "dumb people". I really find it laughable that they were trying to make this game for a "dumb downed crowd" but that is exactly what they tried to do in order to get more sales, in the end it will backfire and this will be the worst sales of all the series. What were you guys thinking? Xbox360 for a subsim? You should have your game making credentials revoked for such a stupid idea.
I will leave the game on my drives for a while, but I don't see it making the cut, it is just so bad that SH4 in it's current form puts it to shame.
All in all it is the worst of the series and I would suggest that people skip this one and just get SH 4 with all the mods. I would also suggest that people Email the makers of this game and let them know exactly how bad it is, and also let it come off with a warning that until they start making products that actually work, we wont buy them.
Hawthorne.
Talk about improbable, these dudes just won! About time, that state has needed a shot of something good for a long time. Tonight they got it. Congratulations Saints!!!!
It's trash. The game is a cluster fuck of bad. Nothing but quests and horrible queueing PVP systems. I've personally written better sytems for emulators.
I cant believe the level of mmo turd's being dumped on the market. This one is a stinker.
