The much anticipated release of OpenGL 3.0 was made this week. I wont go into much detail but I would like to point out that OpenGL from a developers standpoint has abandoned the Gaming Platform all-together in lieu of making a better 2.0 i.e 3.0 is not anyhting new at all, it is 2.0 with more extensions.

OpenGL and the backers of this technology have TOTALY failed this community. There is one thing that is clear: DirectX is the King of Gaming.

This is legislation proposed by Barney Frank (D) and co-sponsored by Ron Paul(R), the law has bi-partisan support and could pave the way for legalized use of recretaional marijuana in the USA. This will make a whole lot of you uptight assholes chill the fuck right out. This is long over due.

For some time now I have been working on a game engine and editor for DirectX. Here are some really cool shots from a company that is using the system for various projects. Tony Snow, the former White House press secretary and conservative pundit who bedeviled the press corps and charmed millions as a FOX News television and radio host, has died after a long bout with cancer. He was 53. This may not mean much to people, but to any civic minded blue blooded American it should matter. Today we lost one of the sharpest minds and kindest hearts the USA has known in my lifetime. I remember when he got his start in radio near my hometown in Greensboro N.C. and then he worked where I was born in VA so I grew up with him. Later he started working as a fill in for el rushbo and becoming the lead anchor for Fox News Sunday. Tony had patience and way with words that made listening to him worth the time. This was a very long time ago but not so long that this guy should be dead already, and for him to pass makes me personally very sad. 

When I worked for Cox Broadcasting (CIM) there would be times when you would get pretty close to people of this caliber and you get to spend some time with them. I have spent time with Sean Hanity and Niel Boortz while I lived in Atlanta, my old chow Angus almost ate Coco (Boortz's dog) at a stoplight after work one day (road/dog rage). All of these guys are brilliant thinkers and losing one of them fucking blows. I don't make it a habbit of posting emo shit on my gaming guilds front page, count this as one of those exceptions.

A few months ago I made a post about a World Editor and API system I had written for TV (DirectX 9x API), the Geoworld system.

After getting some great responses and feedback I took some time to make some examples and improvements to the beta and today I am proud to announce the official release of the Geoworld API and the Geonardo World Editor.

I have teamed up with the staff over at Zepa Studios to in order to bring this product to the community with a full pledge of support, upgrades, custom solutions, source code, examples, assets and more.

The Geoworld systems is more than a simple World Editor, its a full blown game making system with Audio and Video playback, the latest Shader technology, World editing tools, built in managers all wrapped in a very powerful API. The systems perfect for proto-typing, game development, landscape visualization and so much more.

Version 1.0 has been released from Zepa Studios and it requires a license for TV3D 6.5SDK.
